Garville continues to work with all umpires following successful achievement of a National C badge level, however several umpires are selected each year to participate in the in-club TID program, providing small-group training and game mentoring opportunities to further develop skills with the aim of achieving their National B badge, and entrance into Netball SA development pathways. Policies and Expectations

All Garville umpires are expected to abide by the Umpires Code of Behaviour, applying 100% effort, professionalism and respect to each game regardless of player skill level or age.

Further, Garville has its own Anti Harassment & Bullying Policy which addresses harassment of Umpires. Garville does not condone the harassment of any Umpire and we take any harassment towards our, or any, umpire very seriously.

Playing for Garville

To play for Garville we ask only that girls train regularly, give their best when training or playing, and respect their team mates, opponents, coaches and supporters. Our aim is to always select competitive, well-balanced teams, while giving each player the chance to make the best of their ability and feel a part of their team.

Garville teams compete in Premier League and Premier League Reserves in the winter season and in senior and junior ranks in the Adelaide Metropolitan Netball Division (AMND) and City Night in both winter and summer respectively. Both seasons have six age groups as follows;

  • GO (under 9 on January 1) - modified rules and emphasis on learning the game
  • Primary (under 11)
  • Sub-Junior (under 13)
  • Junior (under 15) and
  • Intermediate (under 17)
  •  Seniors (18 yrs +)

Garville usually places 5-7 teams in each of the competitions (except GO) during winter and summer. The exact number depends on how many potential players we have, and how many coaches and umpires.
