About Garville

The name Garville is synonymous with netball in South Australia. We are one of the State’s most successful and respected clubs and offer opportunities for players of all ages and backgrounds, whether they aspire to play for the Australia or simply to make netball a part of their life.

We are one of 10 clubs with a team in the State League – the highest playing level in South Australia and the feeder competition for the Adelaide Thunderbirds – and have won more State League titles than any other team. We also field teams at all levels in the Adelaide Metropolitan Netball Division (AMND), from Sub-Primary through to Seniors.

Garville has a strong culture of fair play and we take as much pride in how our players and teams present themselves as we do in how they perform. We have become successful the right way. We have developed a coaching, mentoring and administrative structure that assists players to be the best they can and provide a safe, supportive and friendly environment for all our players and their families.

Our clubrooms and training facilities are located at the Church Courts in Adelaide’s south parklands (in the area bordered by South Terrace, Greenhill Road, Goodwood Road and Anzac Highway) but we draw our players from all parts of the metropolitan area and regional South Australia.

Playing for Garville

To play for Garville we ask only that girls train regularly, give their best when training or playing, and respect their team mates, opponents, coaches and supporters.

Our aim is to always select competitive, well-balanced teams, while giving each player the chance to make the best of their ability and feel a part of their team.

Garville teams compete in State League and State League Reserves in the winter season and in senior and junior ranks in the Adelaide Metropolitan Netball Division (AMND) in both winter and summer.

AMND has four competitions for players up to age 17; Primary (under 11 on January 1); Sub-Junior (under 13); Junior (under 15) and Intermediate (under 17). Girls under 9 normally begin in Sub-Primary, which has modified rules and an emphasis on learning the game.

Garville usually places 5-7 teams in each of the competitions during winter and a few less during summer. The exact number depends on how many potential players we have, and how many coaches and umpires.

For information about each of our AMND teams for the 2010 winter season please use the “Garville teams” menu in the right hand column of this site.
